The Division of Labor determined that the Steam Boiler Inspection rule is equal to its Federal counterpart because it follows the parameters set forth in 29 CFR Subpart C, General Safety and Health Provisions found in 29 CFR §1926.29, “Acceptable Certifications for Pressure Vessel Inspections. The Steam Boiler Inspection rule also adopts by reference the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Inspection Code (NBIC).
